Naked Mom, Building Blogs And A Health Tip

RIDGEWOOD, NJ - FEBRUARY 01: TV personality a...

If there’s one thing I’ve learned, you can’t go wrong with naked mom in the title … am I wrong? I had a Vancouver web developer look at my stats last year. He chuckled when he saw the term brought in a big chunk of traffic. Fast forward to 2012 and she’s still teaching me showing me the ropes in building blogs and improving health. Odd … but true.

Let’s begin.

Why is there Hemp in my smoothie?

In case you didn’t know, the Merchant is in a long term working contract with a Manhattan-based software business. I signed a big fat non-disclosure, but I can sneak in some harmless stories without breaking my agreement.

Anyway, one day the end of May, the senior programmer ordered lunch. I ordered a smoothie to go with my yummy wrap. I noticed something on the menu. It was a dollar extra to throw some Hemp powder in my smoothie.

I live in New York, not California. What?! Is that legal?!

And in software company geek fashion, I googled it. Yep. Turns out Hemp powder is a superior source of protein, better to digest than Whey protein which makes you fart more than you’d probably care to.

Any fitness witnesses want to confirm that claim?

Why is protein so good for you?

Yea we all know we need it.

Far fewer of us ever take the time to understand it, though.

From The National Library of Medicine:

Proteins are the building blocks of life. The body needs protein to repair and maintain itself. The basic structure of protein is a chain of amino acids.

Pretty important to keeping you going day in and day out, wouldn’t you say? You can’t have a fresh body to work for you everyday without proteins. And you can’t make a living without the freakin’ building blocks of life.

From The Centers For Disease Control:

There are 20 different amino acids that join together to make all types of protein.

Now that’s pretty amazing, I thought. Look around at your kids, your spouse, the dog, the annoying bird that wakes you in the morning. All that, from just a few chains of tiny imperceptible “stuff”. It boggles the mind.

For more information … call a chemist.

Why is protein good for blogging?

That’s a loaded question.

But here’s where it gets good, follow me around my Merchant brain.

Number one: the health tip is a popular content angle. Think about it, I was compelled to google terms for hemp and protein. I was curious about it, I was looking for fresh content. And here I am talking to (thousands of) you about this plant that’s probably taboo in your neighborhood.

It’s a simple market; the guy who eats lunch at work, looking for health information.

How widely appealing is that in an unhealthy American society?

Number two: lest we forget our little science lesson up there … the protein idea is completely applicable to building blogs. It only takes a few basic set of elements to facilitate a healthy blog that consistently inputs and outputs content and traffic.

Content development requires “protein” to avoid blog burn out. Curation methods dictate that you take pieces of the web and assemble valuable content for the visitor to take into their brains. The world of content marketing is, in this way, a digital organism.

Think about that one for a while.

(You can find all the building blocks inside the BlogSuccess “Training Center For Kids Who Can’t Blog Good“)

Number three: Social. Observe how active people in online markets really are. Just as I was googling hemp and proteins, 2 gals on my Youtube radar just so happened to pump out videos on the topic.

Watch them and try them out if you haven’t already.

Get some hemp in you, freak your family out. Besides, it might be good for you. Except the freaking your family out part. That might work out so good. Except if you dad’s a cop. That would be great!
